The Tasmanian Christmas
Christmas is a truly special time; a time for family and food, relaxation and celebration, and here at Hill Street we are absolute believers in all of these things! We start planning our famous Christmas Order Form months in advance, to make sure that your Christmas is stress free.
So, what’s on the list this year?
So glad you asked! This year we're featuring the best and brightest old favourites and new local products to make your Christmas extra special. New season berries, premium Tasmanian ham, beautiful cakes and treats from our local bakeries, and much more! We have wandered the countryside, and searched high and low, to bring you the best Tasmanian products.
Win your Christmas on us!
This year we are once again running our Christmas competition, whereby four lucky customers could win their entire Christmas order on us! To be in the running simply place your Christmas order, in store or online, by Wednesday 13 December. Winners will be notified by Monday 18 December. Full terms and conditions are available here.
Tasting the food (yes please!)
Some of the products from our Christmas brochure will be available for tasting over the delis in our stores on weekends in December, including Salmon en Croute, Rolled Turkey Breast, Hill Street Seafood Pie, Quiches and Marinated Quail. Keep an eye out for these products and please feel free to ask for a taste test if you would like!
How it works
You can place your order here in our online store, or by using the paper order form over the counter in store - whichever you prefer! When ordering, just select your items, pay your deposit, specify your pick up day (either 23 or 24 December) and pick up location (one of our 10 stores). You will receive confirmation by email or mail and an order number.
Need something that’s not listed here?
You only need to pre-order the items listed in our Christmas brochure, as they are either items that need to be produced especially for Christmas, or items that tend to be in short supply at Christmas time (such as raspberries or strawberries). We assure you that we will have plentiful supplies of most other items right through the Christmas period and there is no need to pre-order anything that is not listed here. You will be able to shop for them when you come to collect your Christmas order.
Other orders (including regular online orders) will not be available during this time
Orders for Hill Street Online will close on Thursday 21 December with the final deliveries taking place on Friday 22 December. Hill Street Online deliveries will recommence on Wednesday 27 December. If you have any questions regarding Hill Street Online orders please contact Mike at the New Town Store on 6228 2908 or Kent at the Devonport store on 6127 5355
What size, you ask?
We will allocate preferred ham and turkey sizes, and other items which may become short in supply in the order that they are received – so please order early to avoid disappointment.
Pricing and sourcing of fresh produce
Some products are marked as "market price" because we cannot give firm prices for fresh produce so far in advance. However we guarantee that are pricing will be highly competitive and our produce will be of our usual high standard. Wherever possible we will match a competitor's price for the same item, weight and quality. In the event of adverse weather, crop failure of other reasons for short supply, we may need to source produce from suppliers other than those listed. In all cases we will obtain the best possible quality produce available.
Pick up procedure
Bring your order confirmation and order number to the store on your collection day and hand it to one of our team stationed at the front door. While you shop they will locate your order and have it ready behind the counter when you are ready to check out. It is important to keep (and bring with you on collection day) your order confirmation and order number, and please make a note of the name under which you made the order. This will help us to locate your order quickly. Our busiest time on 23 and 24 December is the early morning, so please consider visiting the store a little later in the day to avoid delays.
If you’ve got a question, ask us! Initial enquiries relating to the ordering process can be directed to email@example.com or by calling 6234 3384. Once you have placed your order please contact the store you have selected as your pick up destination with queries, as they will be best equipped to answer your question.
